Research

IWGC’s goal is to help increase the near and medium-term expansion of geothermal electricity generation and direct-heating use by focusing on regions with high potential for discovery of new resources and rapid development of existing resources. Geothermal resources are complex natural systems, and many of them are hidden. Our focus is on developing better technologies and approaches to locate these geothermal systems and effectively produce them. This requires a thorough understanding of geology, geophysics, geochemistry, hydrology, and engineering—a unique blend of skills that IWGC will provide.
